Split Me is a free, browser-based bill-splitting tool. We are committed to keeping your experience private and transparent. This policy explains what data we collect and why.
By using Split Me, you acknowledge that your information may be processed on servers located outside of your home country.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Split Me offers optional sign-in via Google OAuth. Signing in is not required to use the core bill-splitting features. If you choose to sign in, we receive the following information from Google:
This information is used solely to associate your saved splits with your account. We do not use it for marketing or share it with third parties.
You can sign out at any time from the Settings menu. Signing out immediately ends your session. To request deletion of your account data, contact us at the email below.
When you choose to save a split, the following data is stored in Firebase Firestore under your account:
This data is only accessible to you when signed in. It is stored securely and is not shared with other users or third parties. You can delete any saved split at any time from the Saved Splits page.
Bill data you enter but do NOT explicitly save stays entirely in your browser and is never sent to our servers.
We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the bill-splitting tool. This helps us improve the experience — for example, understanding which features are used most or where people run into issues.
Google Analytics may collect:
Google Analytics data is anonymous and not linked to your Split Me account or any personally identifiable information.
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish users and sessions. These are small text files stored in your browser. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, which will opt you out of analytics tracking.
Firebase Authentication may also use cookies or local storage tokens to maintain your signed-in session across page reloads.
This app uses the following third-party services:
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy for more details.
Unsaved bill data exists only in your browser session and is cleared when you close the tab.
Saved splits are retained in Firebase Firestore until you delete them or request account deletion. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings.
Split Me is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or would like to request deletion of your account data, feel free to reach out at jobeljohny@gmail.com.
